There are things that you can do to help your website get a better ranking with search engines like Google before you even begin to advertise. The following five steps are probably the most important to consider. Google is not very particular about fancy grapics and colors you use, or about the exact words used to describe your messages to your audience. Step 1:
You should almost definitaly design your website in CSS. CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheets, which are basically just written instructions for how the site is presented to your visitors. Not only do Google, and other search bot style engines adore CSS, but once you are used to using it you will as well, since it allows you to update the text appearance of your entire site with very little effort.

Step 2:
Keep your site design pretty simple. You really will not impress most visitors with super fancy designs and flashy videos. On Google's side these are computerized visitors, not human traffic. Many people feel that audio or video that play' s when you open a page is annoying. Get their attention first, then show off the fun stuff.

Step 3:
Meta Tags should definitely be used, but don't rely on them to raise your page rank. Meta tags aren't used all that much anymore. Google mainly uses Meta Tags, such as your Title, Description, and Keyword tags to correctly index your site and put it in the right category.

Step 4:
Don't use giant files that take forever to load. Using big files on your site will slow it down and cause both the robots and your precious traffic to leave before ever seeing your product or message. There are many ways to optimize your images and compress all of your files, so make sure you give the visitor a quick and easily download able page.

Step 5:
Check your links often. The Google bots are advanced technology, but they won't know what to do if they find a broken link or can't find their way off of your home page. Their only option is to leave, and you want your entire site indexed not just your landing page. Use text links and avoid JavaScript when creating your navigation and make sure you provide the search spiders with a Site Map.

It really is a fast sign up process with plenty of custom templates and the ability to run more than one store at once, perfect for themes you are intrested in.

They allow add ons like Google Adsense, which is a program that pays you commissions on click throughs from visitors to your site.

As for the five minute promise, its true for the sign up, but not the set-up. That can take a while to do. I spent about four hours before I had it just right, and there is still more to learn.

You can earn money several ways with this site:

- On items you purchase yourself.
- On items others purchase from you
- By setting up commision for click-throughs
- Through referrals
- Google Adsense

The good thing is the products are all name brands from known stores like Buy.com, Barnes & Noble, Adidas, Best Buy, Sony, Tiger Direct, and many more. Each store has a percentage based commission on sales up to 20%.

Theres a lot to this and it is brand new, so I will keep you updated on my progress with it. Overall it is solid, and has potential to generate a nice amount of extra cash. If nothing else this is a great way to earn some money back on things you probably buy anyway!

Welcome to The Journey: Working From Home blog. Im glad you made it! I want to tell you a little about what this blog is all about, and who I am.

First I want to mention that I am a normal, average american woman with a family to support. I am married to a wonderful man and we have three beautiful children together. Our lives changed drastically in one incredibly painful year. Yes painful, not amazing, wow now I work at home and have this giant house and a porsche. Do you think those people would take thier time to appear on a "work from home" commercial if they could be on the beach of some multi-million dollar resort? If it is true by some slim chance then more power to them, but I doubt it.

In one year we went from two steady decent paying jobs to disaster. It all started when my husbands medical condition worsened to the point where he had no control over it, and he was forced to quit his job of 6+ years, or be fired within the week for leaving work due to illness. Let me tell ya.. big buisiness does not give a damn about you, or your family, you are replaceable for less wages.

Then my job at a mortgage company I was working for the last 4 years went sour. If you know about the economy, you will know what I am talking about. Intrest rates went sky high, and people fooled into adjustable rates when they needed fixed, were now unable to pay thier high intrest.

We were in a financial and emotional fix. Luckily I had been working on some ideas for a while about how to make money from home. I have a few things going, and I do not like to pay for services to make money unless they are carefully researched first, and even then I am weary.

My goal with this blog is to share my experiences with you. I will share with you what is working for me and what has not worked. Plus I am always researching tips and tricks on how to be more sucessful at what I do. I hope that you will offer me feedback in return on things you have tried, and build up a reputable place for those serious about working from home for a living.
